Series or standalone’s?

I like series because you get to spend more time with the characters and the characters are often my favorite part of anything I love getting to see them grow you get to grow with them and by the end of the series they feel like your best friends. But series’s can go on way to long they can stretch what could have been two books into three or more like for example The Mortal Instruments which really should have only been a trilogy also you have to wait forever for the sequel and when it finally comes out I can’t remember half the things that happened in the last book this is why like to wait until series is over.

I like standalone’s because you don’t have to wait for all the answers but sometimes they leave you wanting more and you don’t get to know the characters as well as you do with a series. There’s a really nice feeling when you close the book because everything is wrapped up ad you can be happy knowing that the characters are happy plus you don’t get the hangover that series finals give you. I’m a big fan of companien books like Anna and the French Kiss because you get to know what happens to the characters from the first book but you also get to read another story with new characters or characters you didn’t get to know a lot about.

If I had to choose I think I’d choose standalone’s mostly because I’m getting tired of everything being a series but also because I just really love standalone’s

Which do you prefer series or standalone’s?
